Author Guidlines

1. General Requirements

MULTILITERA: Journal of Multidisciplinary Literacy publishes original research articles, conceptual papers, and literature reviews in the field of literacy studies from multidisciplinary perspectives. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original, have not been published previously, and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

The manuscript should be written in English or Indonesian using clear academic language and must follow the journal template provided by the editorial team.


2. Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  1. Research Articles – Reports of empirical studies using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods.

  2. Conceptual Papers – Theoretical discussions that contribute to the development of literacy studies.

  3. Literature Reviews – Critical reviews and syntheses of previous studies related to literacy research.


3. Manuscript Structure

Title

The title should be concise, clear, and informative, consisting of 12–15 words.

Author Information

Include the following information:

  • Author(s) full name (without academic titles)

  • Institutional affiliation

  • Email address of corresponding author

  • ORCID ID (if available)

Abstract

The abstract should be written in English and Indonesian, consisting of 150–200 words in a single paragraph describing:

  • background

  • objectives

  • methods

  • results

  • conclusion

Include 3–5 keywords.


Introduction

The introduction should contain:

  • research background

  • problem statement

  • literature review (state of the art)

  • research objectives


Methods

This section describes:

  • research design

  • research participants or subjects

  • data collection techniques

  • research instruments

  • data analysis methods


Results

This section presents research findings clearly and systematically. Data may be presented in the form of tables, figures, or diagrams.


Discussion

The discussion explains the interpretation of research findings and relates them to previous studies and relevant theories.


Conclusion

The conclusion summarizes the main findings of the research and highlights the implications of the study.


References

References must follow the APA Style (7th Edition) and should prioritize recent and relevant sources (last 10 years). At least 80% of references must come from scholarly journals.

Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as:

  • Mendeley

  • Zotero

  • EndNote


4. Manuscript Formatting

  • Length: 5000–8000 words

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12

  • Line spacing: 1.5

  • Paper size: A4

  • Margin: 2.5 cm on all sides

Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text.


5. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s Online Journal System (OJS). Authors must register and upload the manuscript through the submission system.


6. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the journal will undergo a double-blind peer review process, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.


7. Plagiarism Policy

The journal applies strict plagiarism screening using plagiarism detection software such as:

  • Turnitin

  • iThenticate

The similarity index should not exceed 20%.


8. Publication Ethics

Authors must follow ethical standards in academic publishing. Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, and duplicate publication are strictly prohibited.
