Author Guidelines

1. General Requirements

EDULOCA: Journal of Local-Based Education publishes original research articles, conceptual papers, and literature reviews related to education based on local wisdom, culture, and community contexts.

Submitted manuscripts must meet the following requirements:

  • The manuscript must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration for publication in other journals.

  • The manuscript should be written in English (preferred) or Bahasa Indonesia using clear academic language.

  • The manuscript must be submitted through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) of EDULOCA.

  • All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process.

  • Authors are responsible for the content of the manuscript and ensuring that the article is free from plagiarism.


2. Manuscript Types

EDULOCA accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  1. Research Articles
    Empirical studies based on qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods research.

  2. Conceptual Papers
    Theoretical discussions that contribute to the development of local-based education.

  3. Literature Reviews
    Critical and systematic reviews of previous studies related to local-based education.


3. Manuscript Format

Manuscripts should be prepared using the following format:

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font size: 12 pt

  • Line spacing: 1.5

  • Paper size: A4

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

  • Length: 5,000–8,000 words, including references

  • Page numbers must be included.


4. Manuscript Structure

Title

The title should be concise, informative, and reflect the main content of the article (maximum 15 words).

Author Information

Include:

  • Full name of author(s)

  • Institutional affiliation

  • Email address of corresponding author

  • ORCID ID (if available)

Abstract

The abstract should:

  • Be written in English (and Bahasa Indonesia if the article is written in Indonesian)

  • Contain 150–250 words

  • Summarize the background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords representing the main topics of the article.


Main Article Structure

1. Introduction

This section should include:

  • Research background

  • Research problem

  • Research objectives

  • Relevant literature review

  • Research contribution

2. Methods

Describe clearly:

  • Research design

  • Research location and participants

  • Data collection techniques

  • Data analysis methods

3. Results

Present the research findings clearly and systematically. Tables and figures may be included if necessary.

4. Discussion

Explain and interpret the research findings, relate them to previous studies, and highlight their significance for local-based education.

5. Conclusion

Provide concise conclusions based on the research findings and suggest implications or recommendations.


5. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be numbered sequentially.

  • Each table and figure must have a clear title and source (if applicable).

  • Tables should be editable (not images).


6. Citation and References

EDULOCA uses the APA Style (7th Edition) for citations and references.

Book Chapter

Authors are encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

At least 80% of references should be from scholarly sources published within the last 10 years.


7. Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software. The similarity index must not exceed 20%.


8. Ethical Statement

Authors must ensure that:

  • The research complies with ethical standards.

  • All sources are properly cited.

  • There is no plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification.


9. Submission Procedure

Authors must submit manuscripts through the EDULOCA OJS platform and follow these steps:

  1. Register/Login as an author.

  2. Upload the manuscript file.

  3. Enter the metadata (title, abstract, keywords, and author details).

  4. Upload supplementary files if necessary.

  5. Confirm the submission.


10. Review Process

All submitted manuscripts will go through the following stages:

  1. Initial editorial screening

  2. Double-blind peer review

  3. Revision by authors (if required)

  4. Final decision by the editor
